Caribbean map > St. Lucia > Best beaches

The best beaches of the island are in the north west and further down to Castries
and of suberp quality. As the most hotels are located at these stretches of sand it
can get busy sometimes. In the south near Soufriére you will find darker beaches.
One of the best is the popular Reduit
Beach at Rodney Bay. This lively
beach has some good restaurants and
bars. Watersport equipment can be hi-
red as well. Another splendid beach is
the Vigie Beach in the north. St. Lucia
has some beautiful bays as well and the
most well-known is the Marigot Bay on
the west coast. The beach is not really
big but you should stop here and enjoy
the fantastic scenery.
Two other great beaches which are less
frequented are the Choc Bay in the
northwest of the island and the Anse
Couchon in the southwest.

The idyllic Anse Chastanet in the south
has more darker sand and the Anse
des Sables at the Atlantic coast is very
popular among windsurfers and divers.

The east coast has some beautiful bea-
ches but you have to be very careful and
sometimes swimming is not allowed!
