There are miles long beautiful beaches which are wide and mainly surrounded by
palm trees. On some of them you will find the larger hotels and all inclusive resorts.
On the north coast you lies the
popular Playa Dorada where most
hotels and resorts were built. The
beach is perfect and there are ma-
ny possibilities to do watersports.
Also good are the beaches around
Sosua. The best place for windsur-
fers is the well-known former village
of Cabarete.
Endless beaches are around the Samaná
Peninsula. The small Cayo Levantado lies
around 10km east of Samaná and is also
one of the highlights. The east coast has
many great sand beaches too. Popular
among locals are Boca Chica Beach and
Playa Catalina.
