St. Lucia has many festivals and the tourism
board is organizing festivals the whole year
round.

The January starts with the popular cooking
contest LET´S COOK ST. LUCIA and the
winner will be the best chef on the island.
The INDEPENDENT DAY is on 22nd February
and this day will be celebrated with parades
and shows. In May the famous WHITSUN-
TIDE WEEKEND
will be held and most bea-
ches are crowded by locals who do picnic.
Now in the 10th year the ST. LUCIA JAZZ
FESTIVAL www.stluciajazz.org will be held in
May. The highlight of the year is the CARNI-
VAL in August where the whole island seems
to be on the streets.

Also in August is the ROSE FESTIVAL, which has it´s origin from the colonial days. In
October the CRÉOLE  DAY takes place and everybody celebrates the créole language.
The December is actually a festival month, because many festivals starts than. High-
lights are CHRISTMAS, NATIONALDAY and many SPORTS and CULTURE EVENTS.
