Jamaica has festivals every month of the year. Popular are music festivals, art
exhibitions and sport festivals.

The CARIBBEAN MUSIV EXPO takes
place in March and is very popular among
locals and tourists. The CARNIVAL (called
YAMON) is celebrated in April and is anot-
her highlight on Jamaica. The REGGAE
DAY and the REGGAE SUMMER FESTI-
VAL are held in June. Jamaicas INDEPEN-
DENCE DAY is in August and the well-
known FILM FESTIVAL is in October. At
the end of the year the MARATHON takes
place.
