dream! As it is bordered by sand banks, therefore, you must
walk long enough to stand in water up to the neck. The Baha-
mas offer also a colorful underwater world, which is be-
lieved to be one of the best worldwide.

New Providence with Paradise Island, Grand Bahama, An-
dros, Eleuthera and the Abacos are the center of tourism in
Bahamas. The capital city Nassau lies on New Providence
where you will find hotels and casinos in higher number. For
many cruise passengers Nassau is usually the first place to

ly. Approximately one million passengers passes through
Nassau harbor every year. The commercial center of Nassau

away from the harbor. The Straw Market and the Parliament
Square with the statue of Queen Victoria is also located near-
by. Right on the square you find the great House of Assembly.
The Government House in Nassau, which is also well known
for its elegant architecture, dates back to the 19th century. Al-
so Fort Charlotte and the Botanical Garden are worth visiting
places.

If you wish a quiet and relaxing vacation in the Bahamas, then

you have to visit the Out Islands, which are rather far away
and therefore quiet and suitable for sunbathing. Andros, Eulet-
